Dandelions symbolises joy, perseverance, and determination as well as intelligence especially in an emotional and spiritual sense.
When you look closer, you will notice that the collar is made of a styrofoam mesh used for packaging and dandelions.
Working on this piece was so much fun! A lovely client of mine wanted a quirky portrait which will reflect her personality and interests. Inspired by Jenny Boot’s photography, I’ve ‘dressed’ my client in a ruff collar which is a nod towards 17th century portraits.
