ARTIST BLOG
Hello,
Have you seen the article in September’s edition of Country Homes & Interiors magazine about Design For Heroes project where accredited NHS key workers get a room makeover ?
I’m super excited to be able to tell you now that a whole room has been designed around my artwork. I’m honoured to take part in this project.
Creating a peaceful haven at home for NHS heroes is just a way to say thank you to some of those amazing key workers caring for people and dealing with the challenges of the pandemic.
Over 1000 NHS workers have been nominated. The charity then matches the NHS hero with a designer in their area to complete the project.
Amy Pereira from @littlehouseinlondon has designed one of the first makeovers for a NHS surgeon who has been working tirelessly at the front-line during those challenging times.
I was humbled to learn that Dr Claire Fraiser is a fan of my work and she chose my ‘Defend The Sacred’ artwork to be the centrepiece in her living-room.
When I asked Dr Fraiser what attracted her to my art, she said:
“ It’s the energy behind the warrior women and the sisterhood. The feeling that we are in it together...”
Dr Claire Fraiser moved into her new home just a week before the lockdown and the house that needed more work than expected. Things were breaking, in need of repair and looking drab.
Working long hours at the NHS front-line has it’s challenges and coming home to a relaxing and beautiful place to come to after a long shift, working tirelessly at the front line has a positive impact on the wellbeing.
I can’t wait to see the design coming to life once the lockdown ends.
Stay tuned and watch this space!
